Imlil is a Berber village at 1,740 m in the High Atlas and the main staging point for Mount Toubkal treks. Surrounded by walnut groves and terraced fields, it has grown into Morocco's trekking hub while retaining authentic mountain character.

Getting from Marrakech to Imlil

The drive takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes via Asni. Private transfers are included on Go Morocco Trek tours; shared taxis exist but are less convenient with trekking luggage.

Where to stay in Imlil

Guesthouses and lodges range from simple to comfortable. Many trekkers stay one night before departure to acclimatise and meet their guide.
